Amelio to storm Abuja with her ‘delicacy’

Amelio began stage performance as a pianist and ballerina at the age of six and trained in dance, both classical ballet and traditional Spanish and Latin American styles. She also mastered castanet for which she has developed choreographies to accompany works of composers like Chopin, Beethoven, Liszt and Paganni among others. She has become a force to reckon with performing her creations the world over.

“It is in this regard”, said Ambassador Luis Alberto Barrero Stahl of Mexico, “that we have decided to bring her to perform in Abuja to give Nigerians a taste of her delicacy in music and dance. She has performed before in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; the Kennedy Centre in Washington, as well as the Theatre Bolshoi in Moscow and other places. We are proud to have her here. She will afford many an opportunity to encounter one of Mexico’s greatest in the arts.”

Regarded as the world’s best castanet player, Amelio will be performing Ensueno (Debussy), A Cuba Everardo (Ordaz), Homenaje (Popular), Capricho italiano (Tchaikovski) and Campanella (Liszt) on Thursday, November 18th, 2010.

Other attractions for the Mexican celebration festival will hold from  November 19th to 23rd.
