A United States firm, American Express (Amex), has named Chief John Adebanjo as the chairman of its Nigerian unit.
Adebanjo, who is also the chairman of Aviation Logistics and Management Limited (ALML), according to a statement from the firm, became the Chairman of American Express Global Business Travel Nigeria, following the acquisition of a controlling stake by the ALML in the Nigerian unit of American Express.
The Chief Operating Officer, American Express Global Business Travel Africa, Louis Van Zyl, said that the company was proud to have Adebanjo on board as the chairman of its Nigerian unit following its partnership with ALML.He noted that the corporate travel arm of American Express had been in Nigeria for over 12 years and was ready to take on new growth phase with the partnership with ALML.
Van Zyl explained that the multi- national company would leverage ALML’s over three decades of cognate industry experience in the global travel sector to break new grounds and expand its market share in Nigeria and other regions in Africa.
He said: “We are very proud of our new relationship with our new partner in Nigeria. We are looking at taking our company to the next level.”
