Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) has announced a grand prize of N100 million and a new SUV for winner of the season 9 edition of the reality TV show.
Daily Trust reports that this year’s grand prize is N20 million less than the N120 million awarded in the Season 8 of the show.
Kogi State-born Ilebaye Odiniya claimed the N120 million grand prize last year.
At a press conference in Lagos, Busola Tejumola, MultiChoice’s executive head of content and West Africa channels, said the debut scheduled for Sunday, July 28, 2024, will dominate screens across all Africa Magic channels beginning at 7 p.m. WAT.
She said, “The ninth season of Big Brother Naija will be going beyond drama; we will be bringing in different blends of unique entertainment.
“The show will run from July 28 to October 6.”
One of the new twists this season is that housemates will be entering the house in pairs and participating in challenges together.
This is a departure from previous seasons where housemates entered the house as individuals.
“The challenging aspect of the show will be that the housemates will be going into the house in pairs and doing some of the house challenges in pairs”, she said.
Urging fans to watch, Tejumola said “Everyone curious about the theme should watch out for the premiere on Sunday, July 28. The show holds lots of fun, vibes, emotion, drama, dynamics, and intriguing twists.”
She, however, did not state the cause for reduction of the grand prize.
