Aminu Kano hospital workers suspend strike

The Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH)’s chapter of the Joint Health Sector Unions has supended the indefinite strike embarked upon by the medical and health workers of the hospital.

Chairman of the Medical and Health Workers Union of the hospital, Comrade Abdulrahman Aminu, who hinted Daily Trust on the development said workers are expected to report to their respective duty posts Tuesday.

Aminu said suspension followed some resolutions reached among the union, federal ministry of health and management of the hospital at a meeting in Abuja.

"We suspended the strike for two weeks, but if within the two weeks government and management of the hospital fail to address our problems, we will direct our members to embark on another indefinite strike. This is the arrzngement and we will stick to it.

It would be recalled the medical and health workers at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital had on Saturday commenced an indefinite strike demanding both the FG and management of the hospital to address their problems.
