The Association of Medical laboratory Scientists of Nigeria ( AMLSN) has unveiled a business plan which will help in enhancing quality health care services in the country.
Speaking during the event in Abuja, national president of the association , Alhaji Toyosi Raheem said it will also enhance the professional development of its members as well as open doors of new investments and opportunities for other health care professionals.
Raheem said the level of health care delivery in the country is nothing to write home about when compared to international standards adding that the business plan for health will yield results especially in the area of medical laboratory science.
While stating that the laboratory is where over 70 percent of medical evidence is gotten, he called on stakeholders to help fund the business plan.
Project coordinator of the business plan for health, Godwin Ihimekpen said it is a vehicle for driving funds for products and services and to ensure self sufficiency and sustainability of the association. Also speaking on the e-learning course of the association, former president of AMLSN , Godswill Okara said as professionals, they are not licenced to serve themselves but humanity, and it is therefore important for them to regularly update their knowlege and sharpen their skills.
Senior Technical Advisor of K4health, an international non governmental organisation supporting the project, Eliana Moteforte commended the team that drew the plan for their initiative and putting it together within a very short time.
