Lobi Stars technical adviser Daniel Amokachi has expressed disappointment with the team’s defeat to Sunshine Stars.

The Makurdi club lost 1-0 to Sunshine Stars in their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) matchday 12 encounter at the Otunba Dipo Dina Stadium, Ijebu Ode on Sunday.

Lobi Stars put up a strong showing in the game but were let down by their poor finishing.

Amokachi reckoned it is important for them to move from the defeat and focus on the task ahead.

“We fashioned scoring chances and enjoyed an advantage but failed to seize it. The season from the onset has been demanding; however, we remain steadfast. We will review, address our shortcomings, and persevere,” he told the club’s media.

The former Nigerian international is focused on the task ahead, stressing the need for collective improvement. The defeat serves as a wake-up call for Lobi Stars, who must regroup and refocus to achieve their season objectives. 

“We have to move from this defeat and focus on the next game,” Amokachi urged. “We can’t dwell on this loss; we have to learn from it and move forward.”

Lobi Stars will seek redemption when they host Kano Pillars in their next NPFL fixture. Amokachi is optimistic about the team’s chances, citing their resilience.

“The boys have shown they can play good football; we just need to work on our finishing,” he said. The team’s ability to bounce back will be crucial in their quest for NPFL success.

With 12 matches played in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), Daniel Amokachi faces the challenge of steering Lobi Stars back on track to achieve their season objectives. Determined to turn things around, the former Super Eagles star has vowed to put in the effort required.
