Ogun State Governor, Mr.Ibikunle Amosun and the immediate -past president of the  Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria(ASCSN), Comrade Bobboi Kaigama have disagreed over the mountain of salaries being owed workers by state governors in the country.
The duo expressed their divergent views weekend  in Abeokuta at the 3rd quadrennial delegate conference of the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria.
Amosun urged workers to bear with governors on the payment of their salaries, adding that the mountain of salaries owed them was not deliberate.
He said the myriads of responsibilities and challenges before the governors sometimes constrain them to pay the workers as when due.
Amosun said his administration expends N4billion monthly on the workers’ salaries as parts of the premium he gives civil servants in the state for their dedication to duty.
But, Kaigama posited that a lot of mismanagement of resources is the major cause of the failure of many states to pay salaries of workers.
He added that  many governors owe workers without showing remorse or being held accountable for their ill action.
“There is no excuse that can be given to justify owing workers salaries for eight or nine months. We have it on good authority that the bailout collected by most states from the federal government were grossly mismanaged to the extent that some didn’t utilize up to half of what was collected to pay salaries,” he said.
He demanded that the federal government should kick start the process of paying workers at the federal level all their entitlements.
