The Western Nigeria Security Network, Amotekun, in Ekiti State has paraded four persons for trafficking two minors to Libya.

The suspects are Mrs Dorcas Adefowoke, Mrs Oyetunji Ebunoluwa, Miss Adefowoke Toyin and Okikiola Omodan.

Two of the suspects are prophetesses who confessed to have gathered more than 30 persons in preparation for trafficking mission before their arrest.

Speaking with newsmen in his office in Ado-Ekiti, the state commandant of the corps, Brig Gen Joel Komolafe (Rtd), said the suspects were arrested after a tip off by good citizens. 

According to him, preliminary investigation confirmed that the suspects, who had formed a cartel, had finalised arrangements to ferry two victims to Libya without the consent of their parents.

Komolafe said the suspects were on their way to handover the victims to agents who would sell them as slaves to Libya before the command tracked them down.

The suspects were later handed over to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP).

Komolafe assured of the readiness of the command to work with various security agencies in the state to fight crime.
