ANA announces 2015 short-list
The Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) has released short-list for the 2015 ANA Literary Prizes for drama, poetry, prose fiction, short stories, and children’s writing categories. The Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) has released short-list for the 2015 ANA Literary Prizes for drama, poetry, prose fiction, short stories, and children’s writing categories.
For drama, Tunji Ajibade made the list for ‘The Last Ilari,’ Omu Nwagboka for ‘The Last Prophecy’ and Dickson Ekhaguere for ‘Unstable.’
In the poetry category, Nwachukwu Egbunike’s ‘Blazing Moon,’ Dami Ajayi’s ‘Clinical Blues,’ Terseer Samuel Baki’s ‘Euphoria of Sophistry’ and Servio Gbadamosi’s ‘A Tributary in Servitude.’
Maryam Bobi made the prose list for her work ‘Bongel,’ Michael Afenfia; ‘Don’t Die on Wednesday’, Meguember V. Sylvester; ‘Long Shadows’, Jacqueline U. Agweh; ‘A Pelican of the Wilderness’ and Obinna Udenwe’s ‘Satans Shaitans.’
In the short stories category is ‘Fire on the Tip of Ice’ by Halima Aliyu, ‘Smithereens of Death’ by Olubunmi Familoni and Su’eddie Vershima Agema’s ‘The Bottom of another Tale.’
For children’s writing prize is ‘Ada Marries a Palm Tree and Other Stories’ by Charry A, Onwu-Otuyelu, Daniella Clinton’s ‘The Leprous King’, and Nnenna Ihebom’s ‘The Magic Mirror’ all made it to the short-list.
