ANA Poetry Prize renamed ANA/Shehu Sani Poetry Prize

The ANA Poetry Prize has been renamed ANA/Shehu Sani Poetry Prize after the award received an endowment of $1,000 from Senator Shehu Sani.

This was contained in a release signed by Wole Adedoyin, ANA’s Public Relations Officer, South.

In a message relayed to the Association recently, Senator Shehu Sani expressed his desire to jerk up the prize money which was N100,000 to $1,000 for a poetry collection, Published and unpublished, that evokes or denotes peace, tolerance, social justice and egalitarianism. By this endowment, the winning work this year 2019 will be rewarded with the sum of $1,000.

It should be recalled that the poetry prize has been one of the most rewarded monetarily of ANA prizes over the years when it was endowed by Cadbury for $1,000 and later $2,000 before it was rested in the late 2000s.

The deadline for the submission of any of the ANA literary prizes is May 31, 2019.
