The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Joint Campus Council, Anambra State, has volunteered to purchase a nomination form for the state governor, Prof. Charles Soludo, for his re-election in the 2025 election.
The Chairman of the Council, Comrade Okoye Matthew Okpara, disclosed this in Awka, stating that the decision to buy the form for Soludo was made in recognition and appreciation of the outstanding work he is doing in the state.
According to Okpara, the governor is truly transforming the state into a Dubai-like destination, as promised. He added that the students would not allow anyone to disrupt the governor’s good work. Okpara, who is also the National Coordinator of the Solution Students Movement of Nigeria, emphasized that they wish to purchase the nomination form for Soludo due to his exemplary leadership, which has positively impacted all citizens and residents of the state.
He further stated that NANS is urging the governor to publicly declare his intention as soon as possible.
Okpara noted that if the governor fails to declare his intention within 30 days, they will be compelled to protest in the various roads and streets of Awka, Onitsha, Nnewi, and Ekwulobia.
According to Okpara, the protest will not aim to destroy any property but will serve as a means to push the governor to declare his second-term ambition so that everyone in Anambra State can be informed.
“The election is just nine months away, and the governor has yet to make his intention known to the public. We, the students of Anambra State under the umbrella of NANS and the Solution Students Movement of Nigeria, wish to know because we are prepared to purchase the governorship nomination forms for him. We are doing this to reciprocate the governor’s dedication and commitment to the welfare of Anambra students and for his ongoing transformation policies across the state, particularly the ‘One Youth, Two Skills Acquisition Programme,’ in which students are also beneficiaries,” he stated.
