The governor of the state, Mr Willie Obiano, made this known during his tour of Anaku, Ayamelum Local Government Area.
He said that the state government would provide free tractor services to the farmers, urging the people to continue to support his administration.
He said that the seeds were distributed free of charge to rice farmers under the aegis of cooperative societies.
The governor was optimistic that the gesture would encourage farmers in the state to enhance their farming activities with a view to achieving self sufficiency in rice production in the country.
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Sir Victor Umeh who accompanied the governor, commended the people of the area for their support of the party and government of Chief Obiano which he claimed was working hard to improve their conditions of living.
The member representing Oyi in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. LilianOkadigbo, said that the governor has impacted positively on the lives of the people of the state.
The Chairman of Oyi Local Government Council, Mr. UchennaOkafor, disclosed that the governor’s onslaught against criminals has restored calmness and “security that would attract investors and boost business activities in the state.”
