The Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Nnaghe Obono Itam, has ordered an immediate manhunt for those who abducted a man in Nnewi LGA on Monday.
It was gathered that gunmen on Monday around 2pm in a red Highlander, abducted a ma in Nnewi and that when they were trailed to Nnobi, they engaged security operatives in a gun battle.
The state’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, who disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, said that during the gun duel, one of the security operatives was fatally hit and two passersby injured.
He said the police rushed the victims to the hospital but that regrettably, all three of them, including a 22-year-old woman, were confirmed dead by the doctors.
