The All Progressives Congress (APC) Youths Progressive Forum has asked the party’s national chairman, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, and all members of the National Working Committee (NWC) to drive a change of baton in Anambra State by ensuring the party defeats the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the November governorship election.

Addressing a press conference on Tuesday in Abuja, chairman of the forum, Amb. Sani Mohammed, said achieving the task requires selecting a credible candidate for the election.

The 7 aspirants who successfully scaled the screening exercise of the APC are Sir Paul Chukwuma, Prof. Obiora Okonkwo, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, Mr. Chukwuma Umeoji, Mr. Valentine Ozigbo, Mr. Johnbosco Onunkwo, and Edozie Madu.

Amb. Mohammed who announced the endorsement of a former member of the House of Representatives, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, for the party’s ticket, said he would attract victory for the party if given the opportunity.

“We are glad to address you today on the need for the ruling APC to take firm stands in the forthcoming Anambra State gubernatorial elections.

“We believe it’s essential for the party to return the state to the center by supporting credibility and capacity, where Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu stands out. By doing so, the APC can demonstrate its commitment to good governance and the development of Anambra State.

“We aim to mobilise support for the party’s candidates and policies, particularly among young people. Our mission is to create a platform for young APC members to contribute to the development of the party and the nation at large.

“As the November 2025 gubernatorial election approaches, the APC Youths Progressive Forum is proud to endorse Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu as the most credible candidate to fly the flag of the APC in Anambra State.

“With his impressive track record of public service, philanthropy, and leadership, Ukachukwu has earned a reputation as the ‘rock of Gibraltar’ in Anambra State politics.”
