A total of 2,769,137 out of 2,802,790 registered voters in Anambra State have collected their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the 2025 governorship election, representing 98.8 per cent of all registered voters across the 21 local government areas of the state.

According to data released by INEC, on Friday, only 33,653 PVCs remain uncollected, according to figures obtained from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The data show widespread voter readiness across the state, with most local governments recording over 98 per cent collection rate. In Aguata Local Government Area, 150,575 out of 155,881 registered voters have collected their PVCs, leaving 5,306 uncollected, representing 96.6 per cent. Ayamelum recorded 96,334 collections from 96,947 registered voters, while Anambra East has 109,418 out of 110,482 collected. Anambra West recorded 70,618 collections from 71,332 registered voters, just as Anaocha had 121,787 out of 124,075 collected.

In Awka North, 84,415 out of 85,054 registered voters have collected their PVCs, while Awka South, one of the largest LGAs, recorded 214,841 collections out of 216,611 registered voters. Dunukofia has 82,477 out of 83,580 collected, while Ekwusigo recorded 90,900 collections out of 91,549 registered voters. Idemili North, which has the highest number of registered voters in the state at 246,318, recorded 243,873 collected PVCs, leaving 2,445 uncollected. In Idemili South, 124,505 out of 125,632 have been collected.

Ihiala recorded 152,777 collections out of 156,715 registered voters, while Njikoka had 117,598 out of 119,608 collected. In Nnewi North, 165,394 out of 166,400 registered voters collected their PVCs, while Nnewi South recorded 101,700 out of 102,907. Ogbaru recorded 186,103 collections from 188,016 registered voters, while Onitsha North had 180,573 out of 183,647 collected.

Onitsha South recorded 168,130 collections out of 168,575 registered voters, while Orumba North had 102,471 out of 102,977 collected. In Orumba South, 84,152 out of 85,767 registered voters have collected their PVCs, while Oyi recorded 120,496 out of 120,717 registered voters, leaving only 221 uncollected—the least in the state.

Idemili North tops the list with the highest number of registered voters at 246,318, followed by Awka South with 216,611. Idemili North also leads in total PVCs collected, with 243,873, followed closely by Awka South with 214,841. Anambra West has the least number of registered voters at 71,332, followed by Dunukofia with 83,580. Anambra West also recorded the fewest PVCs collected at 70,618, followed by Dunukofia with 82,477.

Oyi Local Government Area recorded the highest collection rate in the state with 99.82 per cent, while Aguata has the lowest at 96.6 per cent.

Overall, the figures indicate near-universal voter readiness across Anambra, with 16 LGAs recording collection rates above 99 per cent.
