Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State has said that sign language will be taught in all its secondary schools. 

He said qualified teachers in deaf education or sign language would be recruited for that purpose.

Represented by the Senior Special Assistant on Disability Matters, Barrister Chukwuka Ezewuzie at the first International Deaf Awareness Week celebration in Awka, the governor said his administration has offered automatic employment to about 42 persons with disability in the state. 

He said sign language would be offered by schools to improve the communication skills of deaf students.
