Traditional Rulers in Anambra State have undergone COVID-19 pandemic test carried out by medical personnel from the state Ministry of Health.

The test became necessary to ensure that none of the royal fathers is infected by the virus.

The Chairman, Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council, Obi Alfred Achebe (Obi of Onitsha), reminded the royal fathers that COVID-19 test was not a death sentence but a key to early detection.

Obi Achebe, who spoke through his deputy, Igwe Sunday Okafor of Okpuno regretted that some Nigerians still believe that COVID- 19 is not real, urged them to resist fear and avail themselves of the free test.

Igwe Kenneth Orizu of Nnewi, Igwe Pius Omachonu of Olumbanasaa in Anambra West and Igwe Felix Onyimadu of Ukpor, urged the government to extend the test to all the 181 communities in the state.

They promised to join hands to ensure full enforcement of COVID-19 protocols on their subjects.
