In Sokoto State, although there is a new orientation camp, there are complaints on toilet facilities.
“This camp would have been superb but for the poor toilet facilities,” this is the testimony of most of the corps members deployed to Sokoto State.
The permanent orientation camp, which is located in Wamakko Local Government Area, was commissioned in 2015.
A corps member, Miss Anex Ubunmapi, said, “I am afraid some of us may be infected before leaving the camp because the toilets in the female hostels are terribly bad.”
Similarly, Okpoko Terry said the condition was the same with that of the male hostels as their water system was faulty.
He, however, recommended for modern pit latrines which he noted were easier to maintain.
However, the corps members described other facilities at the camp as excellent, adding that the management of the scheme was doing its best to maintain them
When our reporter visited the camp, he observed that apart from the toilets, others facilities were intact with water running from their taps.
