For your intelligence and diligence, through the magnanimity of providence, you are now proud holders of the Bachelor of Arts degree. It should be your passport to a new world of vast opportunities and possibilities as well as your propeller to societal heights. By now, you have identified the treasures inside you and around you. Therefore, we expect that in everything you do, you will show the expert edge. You should strive to be the best. You should break barriers.
As you leave the Nasarawa State University, Keffi, you should know your value and package yourselves appropriately. You should psychologically prepare yourselves to become mighty and great.
Considerably, journalism is a good path to fame and public service. As reporters, presenters, producers and editors etc. you should show versatility by being functional, resourceful, many-sided and all-purpose. This is necessary because the world depends on you to quench its thirst for what is new and nagging, what is nasty and naturalistic, as well as what is neat and nearby about every matter under the sun. Every day you communicate, you are making an impression. As journalists, you have the opportunity to prove that speaking or writing is power and that your words can work to promote what is good in both ideas and people. When you speak or write, there are always consequences: someone is informed, educated or entertained. Accordingly, you have the chance to set a positive example for others to follow. As journalists, the legacies you leave behind are very important and indelible.
Furthermore, in journalism, it helps to have a beautiful name. Maintain your discipline. Have respectability, integrity and discipline.  The collective good must always come before any individual good or greed. This way, life will be interesting and fulfilling. Additionally, grow to be a good influence on people. Do not leave the world without any trace of your contributions to mankind, like Methuselah who lived for a record 969 years and yet there was no record of his fingerprints on the lives of people.

Because it is said that the best words in life are the words of guidance, I shall give some more.
Human beings are always changing and growing. They are always in the process of becoming. For that reason, work on your weaknesses and improve on your strengths. If you don’t venture, there will be no success. In life, you must be ready to confront competition. Be sure you always deliver a strong performance. It is a difficult world but who says you can’t tough it out?
As the journey of life continues after your degree, plod along but be sure you are climbing. No one was born perfect. Education and lots of practice provide you with essential skills. According to an Ashanti proverb, when the archer was born, he did not hold an arrow.
Conclusively, success must be yours. Remember that man does not become anything until he overcomes something. By providential magnanimity, you shall become stars and you will shine. Aspire. Perspire. Inspire.
