ANDP to build 5,000 houses for less privileged

Foundation for the construction of about 5,000 houses with skill acquisition centres has been laid for the less privileged by the Africa Nations Development Programme (ANDP), a subsidiary of the world Nations Development Initiative, at the country home of Ebonyi State Governor David Umahi.

The African continent Director General, Dr Samson Omojuyigbe witnessed the official ground breaking ceremony performed by the state governor at the site of the project, Umuobuna Etiti in Uburu Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, disclosed that the new city would have primary and secondary schools and a university as contained in the design. Omojuyigbe said there would also be a police station and a barracks, a fire service station, a hospital with staff quarters, a shopping mall, as well as churches and a sports arena.

He assured that the beneficiaries of the project would be purely the

less privileged from the 13 local government areas of the state.

Speaking at the event, Governor David Umahi assured his kinsmen and the people of the state that his government would not utilize land without the consent of the owner. He however urged the people not to hold onto their land when such land was needed for development project.
