Well, we were warned, but we did not heed the signs. The labour party has become a dumping ground of sorts to all sorts of frustrated politicians seeking political accommodation and relevance. It has become a labour party in inverted commas. There are labour parties in other parts of the world. While those ones might be carped justly for their unscientific programmes, they cannot be accused of conniving with the oppressors of the working people as we are seeing blatantly in the case of Nigeria’s so-called labour party. The Uba ticket is blue murder. The workers must resist the usurpers with every ounce of energy at their disposal. Should there be no end to madness? The workers must openly challenge and campaign against the ‘labour party’ and its candidate. What does Mr Uba know about labour, its history, ideology and politics? So these people think that any vehicle can be used in their blind pursuit of power. It is all so nauseating.
