Tonga told Feverpitch in an interview yesterday that Aneke would not mind even if Ajani overtakes him because already he has set the record of being the first player to score 20 league goals in one season.

According to him, the player would forever cherish the opportunity to play for the Super Eagles and even if he loses the Highest Goal scorer crown to any of his rivals, he would not mind.

“I can say that Jude Aneke is already in the Eagles camp and he is not part of our plans for tomorrow’s (today) match. But the most important thing is that he has since set the record as the first player to score 20 league goals in a single season.

“Playing for the Super Eagles is every player’s dream and when the opportunity came his way, we all supported him. It does not matter if another player overtakes him and win the award”.

Kaduna United’s Jude Aneke recently hit a hat-trick against Niger Tornadoes to take his goals tally to unprecedented 20 by a player in a single league season.
