Anger over Obanikoro’s confirmation

These ministers were given different portfolios ranging from Health, Defence, Foreign affairs and Labour. He appointed the 71-year old Jonah Madugu as a commissioner of the Federal Civil Service Commission to cover Benue, Nasarrawa and Plateau states.  According to reports by Sahara reporters, the Lagos state house of Assembly expressed surprise and dissatisfaction at the confirmation of Obanikoro.
In a statement issued by the chairman, House committee on Information, Security, Strategy Segun Olulade, the House accused the Senate President, David Mark of stage-managing the confirmation of the ex-Senator. This move however has drawn mixed comments on the social media from Nigerians who had this to say:
Muhammed Zubair Yusuf: For what offence are they condemning the confirmation of Obanikoro as Minister of state for Defence? State the offense and let us hear.
Joe Igbokwe: Confirmation of Mr. Obanikoro as a minister of the Federal Republic is like a dagger in the hearts of all Nigerians. The pain refuses to go away and even the dagger cannot be pulled out.
Epha: This is another ploy to upset and provoke the APC and make her boycott the forthcoming elections; a situation that will naturally pave way for their (PDP’s) planned Interim Government. Opposition should be vigilant so that this bull in the China shop does not foil the transition.
Udemeobong: I now know why Obanikoro must become a minister at all cost. If you still remember the #EkitiGate scandal, he said he was on a “Mission Possible” – apology to Tom Cruse´s “Mission impossible”. So the mission was to rig the election in Ekiti State with the authority mandated on him from “above”. So the result was positive —-So based on a contractual agreement between both of them, he is to get a ministerial post as reward for his mission.
