Police have foiled a crisis at Sabon Gari Town Hall Polling Unit 012 in Ribah, Danko/Wasagu local government area in Kebbi state which had been besieged by suspected thugs supporting the Governorship candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Gen Sarkin-Yaki Bello.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) polling agents accosted the thugs which almost resulted to chaos at the polling unit but put under control by the timely arrival of the Police. The thugs were immediately dispersed by the police.
Normal accreditation exercise resumed without further hitches.
The Presiding Officer of the PU said out of the 451 registered voters, about 137 was accredited.
At Maisaje Badariya 008 Polling Unit in Birnin Kebbi, voters bounced an INEC staff whom they accused of collecting money from one of the political party agents.
One of the voters told our correspondent that they spotted the INEC official collecting money from the agents in a corner and they pounced on him.
The police intervened and normalcy has returned.
