The one called star which has star shaped patterns on them was very popular in the 70” and 80’s and gradually declined in the 90 and 2000s.While it comes in different colours, the most popular is the yellow colour.
Star staged a comeback last year and unlike before when it was only used by married or older women especially in tying two wrappers, it became popular with both young and old women.
These days  it is sewn into gowns, shorts, tops, trousers, children wears, one wrapper among others, and in styles for all types of occasions. Bags, shoes and hair accessories with star Ankara patterns are also trendy at the moment.
