Detectives from Ikorodu Police Station have arrested a 28-year-old man for allegedly inserting his fingers into the private part of a teenage girl.

The police said that the suspect, one Oyesanwo Sola, allegedly lured the teenage girl into his shop along Ota Ona, Itamaga road where he started fiddling with the young girl’s private part.

The police said that luck, however, ran against the suspect when he was caught in the act by another shop owner, who raised alarm, that led to his arrest.

Lagos State police spokesman, Bala Elkana, who confirmed the arrest, explained that on March 13, at about 4pm one woman (name withheld), who resides at power line in Itamaga area of Ikorodu, reported at Ikorodu Police Station that her 15-year-old daughter (name withheld) was defiled by one Oyesanwo Sola, 28, of grammar school area Ikorodu.

Elkana said the suspect was alleged to have inserted his fingers into the vagina of the victim.

“The survivor was taken to a hospital for medical treatment and forensic examination. The suspect was arrested and he confessed to the commission of the crime,” he added.
