Barely a week after the corpse of a man was found by the roadside at the Phase II Quarters near the Central Mosque in Kwali Area Council of the FCT, another male corpse has been found at Unguwar Gade in the Kuje Area Council of the territory.

A resident of Unguwar Gade, Usman Kabiru, said the corpse was found on Tuesday night near a drain.

He said the corpse, which bore severe injuries, was discovered around 10pm.

He said, “Unfortunately, none of the residents who rushed to the scene could identify the body, including members of the Okada union who also visited the site.”

Kabiru added that vigilantes were later informed of the discovery and that they mobilised to the scene with the police and removed the corpse to the Kuje General Hospital.

A vigilante, simply identified as Ibrahim, confirmed the discovery and reiterated that the identity of the deceased remained unknown.

He said, “We conveyed the corpse in the company of the police to the general hospital in Kuje.”

A police source at the Kuje Division, who spoke on condition of anonymity, also confirmed the discovery, saying investigation was ongoing.
