For allegedly assaulting and hitting her neighbour’s head against a wall, 40-year-old Omowunmi Williams, on Wednesday appeared before an Ebute Meta Magistrate Court in Lagos.
The defendant was brought before the court on charges of manner likely to cause breach of peace and assault. She, however, pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Insp. Raphael Doney, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on Aug. 13 at 8.15am, at No. 63, Ayilara St., Surulere.
Doney said the defendant, while in a scuffle with a fellow neighbour, Idowu Adekoya, who is also the complainant, had overturned her bowls of water where she kept them.
The prosecutor said she also slapped her severally before hitting her head against the wall and shoved her in different directions.
The magistrate, Mr Tolu Agbona, granted the defendant bail of N40,000 with one surety in like sum and proof of gainful employment. He adjourned the case until Sept. 3 for trial. (NAN)
