A 37-year-old man, Aluko Oluwademilade, has been arraigned before a magistrates’ court sitting in Ado-Ekiti over unlawful assault.

The police prosecutor, Inspector Adejare Elijah, told the court yesterday that on January 15, at about 1pm in Ado-Ekiti, the defendant assaulted one Adebayo Oluwatayo and harmed him.

Inspector Elijah said the defendant thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 355 of the Criminal Code Cap C16 Laws of Ekiti State 2012.

Counsel to the defendant, Barrister Busuyi Ayorinde, urged the court to grant his client bail.

The magistrate, Mrs. Mojisola Salau, granted N10,000 bail with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case to February 16, for hearing.
