Man jailed 10 years for possession of cocaine

Justice Simon Amobeda of the Federal High Court, Kano, has sentenced one Olisaka Chibuzo Calistus to 10 years imprisonment for being in possession of cocaine without lawful authority.

The convict was arrested on December 17, 2024, with 6kg of cocaine he brought from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to Kano via Malam Aminu Kano International Airport.

Calistus was charged with being in possession of illegal substances which contravene Section 11A of the NDLEA Act, Cap N30 laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.
