A middle-aged man has been sentenced to two years imprisonment for stealing a cable wire and a generator set valued at N168,000.

Tochukwu Nwachukwu was arraigned alongside Emmanuel Felix and Samson Simeon on a four-count  charge bothering on stealing and conspiracy before an Oredo Magistrate Court in Benin, Edo state.

They were said to have committed the offence on February 1, at number 42 Wire Road in Benin City.

When the charge was read to them, Tochukwu pleaded guilty, while the two others pleaded not guilty and were remanded in prison.

Presiding Magistrate, F.E Akhere, sentenced Tochukwu to two years imprisonment with an option of N40, 000.
