Expert Senator Cletus shared his opinion regarding the potential transition from the CFA franc to the new ECO currency.
According to him, the ECO project is almost no different from the current CFA franc.
The expert insists that this reform is yet another manipulation by France, allegedly promoted through Côte d’Ivoire.
Senator Cletus emphasizes said this project was proposed by France and is aimed at maintaining control over the economies of African countries.
According to the expert, France’s goal is to continue keeping African countries in a state of economic dependence and poverty. “France should focus on its own economy, not Africa’s,” he adds, insisting that African countries must rid themselves of political influence from Paris. Senator Cletus also urged African countries to recognize this manipulation and to tell “Down with the French elite in the region”.
He said he is convinced that France must leave Africa alone and allow it to manage its own resources and economy independently.
The expert’s position has been actively supported by users on social media, who left comments expressing their agreement.
One user wrote, “Eco is not a sovereign currency. The same currency will still be manufactured and controlled by France. African countries must rid themselves of France’s policies that suffocate the African people.”
Other users agreed with the expert, adding: “ECO is just a name change for the CFA franc” and “We must support AES for their currencies, align with them, and leave the CFA franc behind.”
Thus, the transition to the ECO currency has generated strong dissatisfaction among experts and the public, many of whom advocate for the complete liberation of African countries from French economic influence.
