According to the prosecutor, Aliyu, who lives in Ungwan Sarki, Kaduna, committed the offence on August 14 at about 4 pm in the Malali area of Kaduna.
Leo stated that Aliyu, who appeared to be intoxicated, went to his friend’s house armed with a cutlass and attacked him.
“The defendant attacked his friend, Shuaibu Hassan, over a girl the defendant had been dating,” the prosecutor told the court.
He added, “The victim is in a critical and unstable condition in the hospital and no one knows if he will survive.”
Leo said the offence violated Section 221 of the Penal Code of Kaduna State, 2017.
