A woman, Mrs Juliet Moor Ugoh, has told an Abuja magistrates’ court that her sister, Mrs Margaret Mkpuma, and her son, Harry, have threatened to destroy her marriage.
Mrs Ugoh told the court that sometime in May, 2022, her husband forwarded WhatsApp messages sent to him by her sister asking him to divorce her, claiming that she’s a prostitute, a killer and a native woman.

She said her sister who claimed to have been the one who destroyed her first marriage vowed to destroy her present marriage too.
City & Crime learnt that the sister, Mrs Mkpuma (46), and her son, Harry (18), are being tried on allegations bordering on criminal conspiracy, causing hurt without provocation, assault on public servant to deter him from discharging his duty and criminal force to a woman with intent to outrage modesty and using abusive words.
The prosecutor, Barr P. Ebong, said the charges contradicted Sections 97, 247, 267, 268, 392 and 399 of the Penal Code.
He said the defendants who live on Plot 12, Jikwoyi Phase II, Abuja, sometime in May deceitfully and falsely informed one Mrs Ugoh’s husband who lived in New York, USA, via WhatsApp, that she was into prostitution in Abuja and that consequently, the husband ceased communicating with her.
He said the defendants and others now at large at a time beat up the complainant and left her naked in public.
He further said the defendants resisted police invitations and slapped one Insp Theresa and tore Insp Edward Odeyi’s uniform while they were on duty.
The Magistrate, Theresa Nten Otu, adjourned to October 17.
