Barring any last minute change in plan, the Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC) will announce the results of the local government councils elections it conducted over the weekend in the state today.
Commissioner of logistics and field Operations of the commission, ADSIEC. Emmanuel Anuhu Abba told journalists during the collation of the results which commenced yesterday that the exercise was still in progress.
Abba said that so far the election results of 20 local government areas have been collated with that of Numan local government area still pending explaining that as soon as election is concluded there then the commission will officially announced the results all together.
Abba therefore appealed for patience and understanding with a view to ensure a free, fair and transparent process as done in the 20 LGAs across the state noting that late of arrival of election materials was reason for not conducting the process simultaneously.
Our correspondent reported that the non sensitive and sensitive election materials were distributed across the 21 LGAs on Friday 12th June while the election proper commenced on Saturday 13th June 2026 though there were protests in some areas that electoral officials were not seen.
Though the commission hasn’t announced the election results yet, results announced at the wards to local government levels, indicate the Peoples Democratic party, PDP is in early lead in the 20 local government areas so far.
The state police commissioner in the state CP Kabir Umar Hassan confirmed while speaking to journalists during monitoring of the process that the exercise was conducted peacefully with out any reported incident of obstruction or breach of peace across the 21 LGAs in the state.
