Receiving the defectors in Ikoneto and other wards of Odukpani Ochicha, he urged supporters of the party to woo more PDP members to the APC.
“I am sure everyone is seeing what is happening. There is a wind of change coming and it is coming strong. We urge our supporters to canvass and bring more members. APC will win the March election and preside over affairs of this state and this country,” he said.
Few weeks ago, about 2000 members of the PDP in the state had defected to APC.
Leader of Ikoneto Women Association Eme Edem Asuquo and a member of the community, Mr Ekpenyong Okon, told journalists that they defected to APC due to alleged injustices, imposition of candidates and deceit in the ruling party.
The APC candidate had earlier visited Okoyong Akani Obio, Greek Town II, Adiabo Efut, Esekung, Atan Eki, Odot, Ukwa Eburutu, Ito Idere Ukwa, Atan Onoyom and Akamkpa wards where he was welcomed by many supporters.
