The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has flayed the immediate past Director General of Voice of Nigeria (VON), Osita Okechukwu, for calling for the removal of Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, as chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF).
Okechukwu had called on governors, who are members of the APC, to sack Uzodinma as their chairman following the outcome of the February 17 governorship primary election in Edo State, where three candidates emerged with Uzodinma as chairman of the party’s primary election committee.

But reacting on Tuesday, the APC national vice chairman (South-East), Ijeomah Arodiogbu, said Uzodinma has nothing to do with the confusion that trailed the exercise.
He cautioned chieftains of the party “working against the interest” of the South East zone, stressing that henceforth those doing so would face sanctions from the top echelon of the party at the zonal level.
