A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in the FCT, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Ahmad, has embarked on the grading of a 2.7 km stretch road along Kuje prison in the area.

Speaking with newsmen while inspecting the grading of the road on Saturday, Ahmad said he embarked on the road project to reduce hardships motorists and residents face while plying the road especially during the rainy season, when the road becomes impassable.

He added that the project was a self-sponsored which he said will go a long way in drawing the attention of the government by constructing a water drainage system along the road.

“It was a terrible experience when I knew that during rainy season some motorists couldn’t ply the road with their cars as a result of the bad road network,” he said.

Ahmad, who is also a former chairmanship aspirant in Kwali Area Council, added that “it necessitates my bold step to do something during dry season maybe after this, then probably drainage to provide a good water channel,” he said.
