APC Convention A Turning Point for Party Unity, Says Saliu Mustapha

Senator Saliu Mustapha, who represents Kwara Central in the National Assembly, has described the 2026 All Progressives Congress National Convention held in Abuja as a turning point for unity within the ruling party.

The convention, which attracted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, governors, lawmakers and other key stakeholders from across the country, served as a major platform for strengthening internal cohesion and reinforcing the APC’s organisational structure ahead of future political engagements.

The gathering also featured key deliberations on the direction of the party, culminating in the emergence of a new National Working Committee tasked with managing the affairs of the ruling party and deepening its internal democratic processes.

Speaking after the convention, Senator Mustapha said the exercise represented a renewed commitment by stakeholders to unity, stability and collective responsibility within the APC.

He commended the peaceful conduct of the event and applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his leadership role, noting that the outcome reflected growing confidence in the party’s internal structures and decision making processes.

The Kwara Central senator also congratulated the newly elected National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, alongside members of the National Working Committee, expressing optimism that the new leadership would strengthen unity and reposition the party for greater effectiveness and electoral success.

He stressed that the APC remains committed to resolving internal differences through dialogue and consensus building while maintaining focus on delivering democratic dividends to Nigerians under its administration.

According to him, “sustained unity within the party is essential for consolidating ongoing reforms and ensuring that governance continues to translate into meaningful improvements in the lives of citizens across the country”.

Senator Mustapha further urged “party members and stakeholders to remain focused and committed to the collective vision of the APC”, noting that internal harmony remains a critical foundation for political stability and long term success.
