The All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared Joseph Abe Aku as the winner of the rerun primary election for the Jos North /Bassa bye election slated for February 26.
The rerun election was conducted at the Prestige Event Centre Jebu Bassa in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The rerun followed a tie in the outcome of the first exercise held on Wednesday between two major contenders – Suleiman Yahaya Kwande and Joseph Aku, who polled 344 votes each.
Chairman of the electoral committee, Habu Ajiya announced that Joseph Aku during the rerun scored a total of 809 votes to beat Kwande who scored 74 votes.
Kwande claimed that he won the first primary conducted on Wednesday, hence he wouldn’t participate in the rerun.
