APC defeats PDP’s Agbaje in Lagos governorship contest

‎The Governorship candidate of All Progressive Congress (APC) in Lagos, Akinwunmi Ambode has defeated his main challenger in the contest, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Jimi Agbaje.

At the announcement of the governorship poll result at the State office of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Yaba, Lagos, the State Collation Officer, Prof. Isaac Adewole said Ambode polled a total of 811, 994 votes to defeat Agbaje who scored a total of 659, 778 votes.

‎A total of 16 political parties participated in the contest that saw Ambode winning a total of 15 Local Governments and Agbaje winning in five local governments‎ in an election held on Saturday April 11, 2015.
