APC deputy national scribe declares for Senate

Deputy National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdulkarim Abubakar Kana, has formally declared his intention to contest for the Nasarawa West senatorial seat.

Kana made the declaration during a visit to the Nasarawa State APC Secretariat  in Lafia. He also visited the office of the Secretary to the State Government, and the Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly in Lafia.

Speaking after a private meeting with the Speaker,  Dr Danladi Jatau, who represents Kokona West Constituency, Kana said they discussed community matters and strategies for a “peaceful and amicable process of producing candidates, starting from the State House of Assembly all the way to the Senate.”

He disclosed that both he and the Speaker agreed to support Governor Abdullahi Sule’s decision to announce Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada as the preferred governorship candidate for the upcoming APC primaries.

“Amongst those other issues, the issue concerning our senatorial ambition was also discussed, where we informed the Speaker that upon coming into Lafia, we have submitted letters of intent to contest for the Senate of Nasarawa West Senatorial Zone,” Kana said.

The former Attorney General of Nasarawa State cited his legal background, legislative experience, and role in the APC National Working Committee as assets he would bring to the Senate.
