APC Goes Spiritual For Governorship Aspirant In Kwara

Members of the All Progressives Congress in Osi, Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State have held special inter-religious prayer sessions for the peaceful conduct of the 2027 general elections.

The event brought together Muslim and Christian leaders who jointly offered supplications for stability, good governance, and the success of party candidates in the forthcoming polls.

Leading the Muslim prayers was the Chief Imam of Osi and Chairman of the League of Imams and Ulamas in the local government, Alhaji Saadudeen Ajisefinni, while the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria for Ekiti LGA, Pastor Kenneth Adegoke, led the Christian session.

The clerics prayed for the actualisation of the political aspirations of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and a governorship aspirant in the state, Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa (BOB), ahead of the 2027 elections.

They also sought divine intervention against rising insecurity, including banditry and other forms of criminality, urging that leaders be guided to deliver impactful governance.

The prayer session, organised by APC stakeholders and elders in the area, drew the attendance of eight former local government chairmen, party leaders, and supporters.
Participants used the occasion to publicly endorse Bolarinwa’s governorship ambition and express support for President Tinubu’s second term bid.

Speaking with journalists, an APC stakeholder and aspirant for the House of Representatives seat representing Ekiti/Oke Ero/Isin/Irepodun federal constituency, Chief Omogbenle Adeyemi, praised the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for “impactful development across the state.

He expressed confidence that the governor would play a pivotal role in ensuring the emergence of Bolarinwa as the party’s candidate in 2027.

Adeyemi said, “Governor AbdulRazaq will assist the party to produce Hon. Bolarinwa as governor come 2027, just as the governorship aspirant played a key role in producing the governor when he was chairman of the party in 2019.”

He added that Bolarinwa remains the preferred choice of the party in the state, noting that stakeholders would ultimately rally around the party’s consensus candidate.

Also speaking, a former chairman of the local government, Hon. Yinka Dallas, underscored the importance of prayer in achieving good governance.

“We have seen the way and we don’t want to deviate from it. It is prayer before anything and prayer after all things. That is why we have endorsed and backed it up with prayers for Hon. Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa to be the next governor of the state and for the re-election of President Tinubu,” he said.

Dallas further called for greater commitment and dedication from political leaders, stressing that leadership goes beyond occupying public office.

“In this crucial time in Kwara State, we need a committed and dedicated leader like BOB to take over from Governor AbdulRazaq, who has done well,” he added.
