A group of party chieftains under the aegis of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Patriots have appealed to the party’s presidential candidate for the 2023 poll, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to pick Governor Sani Bello of Niger State as his running mate.
A statement on Wednesday in Abuja, jointly signed by the national coordinator and secretary of the group, Prince Zadok Bukar, and Chief Omini Ofem, said the governor should be considered because of his contributions to the growth of the party, experience and sense of justice and equity among others.

“Governor Bello is a loyal member of the party. Leaders and members should not forget in a hurry how the Niger State governor rescued APC when it was going adrift before the emergence of the Senator Abdullahi Adamu-led National Working Committee (NWC).
Meanwhile, the northern inter-tribal/inter-religious alliance for peace, unity and development has called on Tinubu and the APC to pick the current Executive Secretary of the Christian Pilgrims Commission, Rev. Yakubu Pam, as running mate.
National Secretary of the group, Comrade Aaron Mike Odeh, made their stand known at a press conference yesterday in Abuja.
