APC, guber candidate file petition against Tambuwal’s election

The All Progressives Congress APC and its governorship candidate in Sokoto state have filed petition at the Election Tribunal against election of PDP ‘s candidate Governor Aminu Tambuwal .

The respondents include the PDP Gubernatorial Candidate, Governor Aminu Waziiri Tambuwal , Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC), and the Peoples Democratic Party.

Also,the Tribunal granted an Ex Parte Order, to allow the APC Counsels to inspect the Electoral materials used for the two polls .

Speaking after the Tribunal’s sitting ,a member of the legal team ,Barrister Bashir Mu’azu Jodi,who commented on behalf of Lead Counsel, Dr Alex Izinyon , SAN,said the election of Governor Aminu Waziiri Tambuwal was being challenged on many congent grounds.

These ,he said ,centered majorly on trampling of the Electoral Act, 2010, as amended, during the March 9th, 2019, Gubernatorial election, as well as the March 23rd , 2019, rerun Gubernatorial poll

He disclosed that the respondents would be served later “adding “they have two weeks to reply, after which the Court will fix a date for hearing .”

On the exparte order, he said the materials to be inspected included various forms , ballot papers and card reader machines , among others .
