APC loses 2 lawmakers to SDP in Nasarawa

Two members of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Mohammed Adamu Omadefu representing Keana Constituency and Jacob Ajegena Kudu representing Nassarawa Eggon East Constituency, have resigned from the All Progressives Congress, APC, and defected to the Social Democratic Party, SDP, over alleged ill-treatment during the party’s just concluded primary elections.

Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Danladi Jatau, announced the resignation and defection of the two lawmakers during the Assembly sitting in Lafia.

The Speaker announced their resignation from the APC while reading the two separate letters submitted to him during the House  session.

Reading the letters, Dr. Jatau said the duo cited ill-treatment meted out to them during the just concluded APC primaries in the state as reason for their defection.

“Some of us have accepted the outcome of the APC primaries in good faith. While some of you did not and felt that you have a platform that you will excel. So, I wish you best of luck in your new platforms,” the Speaker said.

Prior to the defection of the two members, the member representing Toto/Gadabuke Constituency, Hon. Mohammed Isimbabe, had also resigned from the APC and defected to the Social Democratic Party, SDP.
