During a private visit to Oyinlola in his Okuku country home,  Oyegun said Oyinlola’s experience and influence are needed in the party.

Other APC leaders who visited Oyinlola along with Oyegun included former Chairman of the party, Chief Bisi Akande, ex-Lagos state Governor, Senator Bola Tinubu, Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun state and Alhaji Lai Mohammed.

An impeccable source told Daily Trust that Tinubu and Akande spoke on behalf of the party during the visit and encouraged Oyinlola to join forces with other politicians in APC.

Tinubu, according to the source urged Oyinlola to team up with other progressives in the APC to provide strong opposition to the PDP in the 2015 general elections.
It was gathered that the APC leaders assured Oyinlola of high
placement in the party if he joins the party.

However, Oyinlola was said to have told the opposition leaders that he remains the authentic National Secretary of the PDP.

Oyinlola reportedly told the APC leaders to exercise patience on his decision, saying that his decision would be made known to them soon.
