George Moghalu, the pioneer national auditor of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has resigned from the party, citing personal reasons.

Moghalu, a former governorship candidate in Anambra State, recently retired as Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA).

Moghalu’s resignation was communicated in a letter addressed to the APC chairman of his ward, Uruagu Ward 1 in Nnewi, Nnewi North Local Government Area, Anambra State, and also copied to the local government and state party chairmen.

The letter, dated August 26, 2024, and titled “Resignation of Membership of the APC,” reads: “I bring you good wishes from my family and formally notify you of my decision to resign my membership of the APC, effective today, August 26, 2024.
