Announcing the results at Karma Hotel, Gusau, the collation center, Prof. Ishaq Bala, chairman of the APC senatorial primaries announced that Bilbis polled a total of 127,326 votes in Zamfara Central; while Ali Akilu Dama came second with 8,593 votes and a female aspirant, Lubba Abba Gusau, scored 140 votes.
He also declared Senator AbdulAzeez Yari as the winner of the Zamfara West Senatorial district with 125,235 out of the 125,311 votes cast while Nasiru Zarumi scored 653 votes.
In Zamfara North Senatorial district, Senator Sahabi Ya’u Kaura declared as the winner of the primary with 65,342 out of the 68,207 cast.
Earlier before the commencement of the Senatorial primaries elections in the state some aspirants that kicked against reconciliation accused some high ranking politicians in the state for hired jacking the electoral process.
Sanusi Garacci a senatorial aspirant from Zamfara Central, rejected the outcome of the APC senatorial primaries and vowed to take legal action.
“I urge my supporters to remain calm, and assure you that all necessary steps must be taken to seek redress through legal channels,” Garacci said.
