Jime, a gubernatorial aspirant of the party alongside three others are in court and praying it to upturn the alleged unilateral imposition of Dr. Samuel Ortom as the party’s candidate for the February 28 election.
“We are still in court. We have been in court since the 19th of December, 2014. We hold unto hope. We have prayed the court to right the wrongs done. Now that the strike action by the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) has been called off, we foresee an early reversal of the injustice perpetrated against us.
“I can only assure you, we are in this together knowing that even if we do not fully recover our mandate, we would have changed our party for the better. Never again would delegates be treated as though they don’t matter. If we let this be, if we negotiate for less, we would be encouraging impunity. We would have emboldened others to do the same thing to our children tomorrow,” he told his supporters in Makurdi yesterday.
He said the leader of the party in the state, Senator George Akume,  had ignored reasoning as well as party guidelines to continue to treat members unjustly as if they do not matter in the scheme of things.
The other three aggrieved aspirants are: Prof. Steve Ugbah, Senator Joseph Waku and Mike Iordye.
